Mission

Farber Swim School offers swim lessons and programs to people of all ages and abilities in the Portland Metro area so that participants will develop an appreciation and an affinity for water.

Philosophy

Farber Swim School is:
  1. Dedicated to teaching life long swim skills and enjoyment of water
  2. Believes anyone can learn, no matter what their background or age
  3. Encourages competition, but does not make it the emphasis

History

The Penguins Swim Team formed in Portland, Oregon in January 2007 with a team of 13 age-group swimmers and two coaches, Dana Paulino, and Adam Farber, the founder. In May of 2009, the Penguins added a high school level team (high school level). At this time, there are over 15 team members ranging in ages from 5 to 17 years old.

The lesson program began in March of 2007 with 6 families and has quickly grown to offering lessons to over 30 families (private and semi-private) for ages 4 months to adults.

In April of 2010, Farber Swim School was able to expand its programs and hours when it moved to the Western Athletic Club, its current location. FSS' new home is perfect for its needs and has a great and convenient location for its participants. Come check us out!
